Antique Adventure
There’s something truly special about the thrill of the hunt when it comes to antiquing. You never know what you might discover, and sometimes the most extraordinary pieces are found in the most unexpected places!
Over the years, we’ve loved incorporating antique furniture and collected home accessories into our clients’ homes. Along the way, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with so many wonderful antique dealers throughout Georgia, and some on social media. When a dealer from Pine Mountain invited me to join in on an antiquing trip with other dealers, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. To make the experience even more meaningful, my mom, who shares my love for antiques, joined me for the adventure!
The Thrill of the Hunt
One of the things I love most about antiquing is that moment when you walk into a booth and a piece immediately catches your eye. There’s just something about certain antiques that speaks to you, whether it’s the craftsmanship, the history, the patina, or simply the way a piece makes you feel. Of course, not every treasure is waiting out in the open! Some of the very best finds require a little patience and curiosity. Don’t be afraid to move things around, look beneath the surface, and dig a little deeper. You never know what might be tucked away just waiting to be discovered.
For me, antiquing is about so much more than finding beautiful things. It’s about the history behind each piece, the stories they carry, and the character they bring into a home. I love the idea of incorporating something old and meaningful into a space. Allowing it to feel collected over time rather than simply decorated. Each antique has its own personality, and the right piece can bring so much warmth and soul to a room.
This trip was a wonderful reminder of why I love what I do. Between discovering incredible pieces, connecting with fellow dealers, and sharing the experience with my mom, it was an adventure I’ll remember for a long time.
And that’s the beauty of antiquing: you can make a list, have an idea of what you’re looking for, and still come home with something completely unexpected. Sometimes, the best treasures are the ones you weren’t even searching for!
