Have you ever worked with an Interior Designer? Have you wondered what the design process looks like? While every firm is different and unique in their own ways, here’s how L&M operates.
First,
we get you in for our complimentary consultation. This meeting is all about discussing your project in depth, and our contract. We go over the design fee, what all we handle (everything ;)), and it’s just a good opportunity to make sure it’s a good fit.
Second,
we go to the site of your project to do field measurements. This allows our designers to make sure all of our drawings are good to go. With a renovation, or a full furnishing, we need those measurements to be exact. This allows for a much smoother process and rids of a lot of headaches that could pop up along the way.
Third,
we get to the design board! When our drawings are exact, we can place things exactly how they should be. Size, placement, and overall functionality are so important for our design process. Our team of designers will start making selections for furniture or finishes! That’s the fun part!
After the designers have made selections, we will call you to book your design meeting. We carry a majority of samples here at our showroom for our clients to see and get a better idea of the material and color. If we don’t have a sample, we try our best to get it. We know how big of an investment and trust you put in us, so we like to make sure that you love what you’re getting.
If there are reselects, we mark it up on the actual design board that you will also see to get a feel of layout and of every selection together. Our team of designers will start on reselects, if any, and then approve them with you.
Once everything has been approved, we get to create the estimate. We have access to multiple vendors through a trade account. This allows us to get things at a discounted rate most of the time. After we have completed your estimate, we call you back in to discuss it. Our estimates are very itemized so you can see an exact breakdown of where your money is going.
Once the estimate is approved, we start ordering! At L&M, we handle it all. From the design process, to ordering, storing, and installing. This way, our client doesn’t have to lift a finger. We take the stress and worry away by being an all-in-one design firm!
